How I Got There: Steps in the Design Process

I'm developing a new processing technique that results in images that look like printed ink. These images chart my steps in an attempt to reproduce this effect, but the attempt goes off the rails. The resulting tight pattern is cool, but not at all what I was going for.


The above source photo is one I took inside the abandoned part of the Military Hospital in Antwerp, 2005. It's a covered, sinuous breezeway connecting two buildings. The photo has been treated heavily with one of my favourite filters, Mean Curvature Blend.
